Bio Identical Hormones
What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)?
As men and women age, the levels of some key hormones in the body go down. These include estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. This results in a variety of symptoms and conditions, which can be improved by replacing the hormones. This decrease in hormones typically becomes noticeable in your late 30’s and into your early 40’s. Traditional doctors use synthetic hormones. These have been shown to cause various types of cancer and are typically harder to tolerate causing bloating and mood changes. Bioidentical hormones are chemically identical to those the body produces naturally. These simply replace the hormones you are naturally losing and can help to restore energy levels, improve hot flashes and other menopause symptoms, improve weight gain and libido and provide other health benefits including improved bone and heart health.
