Platelets are one of the main components of whole blood. Platelets promote cell growth and regeneration. To make PRP, your blood is drawn and spun down in a specialized centrifuge to make a solution of platelets that is approximately 6x concentrated compared to whole blood.
Platelets carry growth factors that assist with wound healing and tissue regrowth. When PRP is injected into the scalp, it reaches the bottom of the hair follicle and stimulates a specialized population of cells named dermal papilla cells, which play a critical role in hair growth.
You typically will require at least 2-3 treatments, given one month apart. Results are usually seen within a few months.
