What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)?

What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

As men and women age, the levels of some key hormones in the body go down. These include estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. This results in a variety of symptoms and conditions, which can be improved by replacing the hormones. This decrease in hormones typically becomes noticeable in your late 30’s and into your early 40’s. Traditional doctors use synthetic hormones. These have been shown to cause various types of cancer and are typically harder to tolerate causing bloating and mood changes. Bioidentical hormones are chemically identical to those the body produces naturally. These simply replace the hormones you are naturally losing and can help to restore energy levels, improve hot flashes and other menopause symptoms, improve weight gain and libido and provide other health benefits including improved bone and heart health.

For Women

Hormone replacement is not just for women in menopause. Many women begin to experience peri menopause symptoms starting in their late 30’s and early 40’s. These symptoms can include increasing headaches, weight gain, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, unrefreshing sleep, increasing anxiety and depression, abnormal bleeding and many other symptoms

Other symptoms that can be improved with bioidentical hormones include: Hot flashes, Night sweats, Mood changes, Memory loss Weight gain, Fatigue, Sleep issues, Loss of libido, Vaginal dryness and pain during intercourse
